Question 1

Do I need metalsmithing experience for the beginner workshop?

Accepted Answer

No. The beginner workshop is designed for first-time metalsmiths and does not require previous experience.

Question 2

What will I make in the beginner workshop?

Accepted Answer

You will make one sterling silver piece. Choose a ring or pendant using one 10 mm round cabochon, or make a pair of earrings using two 8 mm round cabochons. All tools and materials are included. The beginner workshop is $140 per person.

Question 3

Are tools and materials included?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The tools and materials needed for the beginner workshop project are provided.

Question 4

What is the difference between beginner and advanced classes?

Accepted Answer

The beginner workshop teaches foundational skills through a 10mm round-stone ring or pendant project. Advanced classes build on those fundamentals with more involved creations, more design choices, and deeper techniques such as detailed stone setting, shaping, soldered or layered elements, texture, multi-part construction, and refined finishing.

Question 5

What is your workshop cancellation policy?

Accepted Answer

Workshop registrations are nonrefundable. If you contact me at least seven days before your workshop, you may transfer your payment one time to another available class date. Cancellations made less than seven days before the workshop cannot be transferred unless I'm able to fill your seat. You're always welcome to send someone in your place. If GlassStoneStudio needs to cancel a workshop, you may choose a full refund or transfer your payment to another available date.

Question 6

What is Open Studio?

Accepted Answer

A $45, two-hour independent bench session for people who have completed a beginner workshop or already have metalsmithing experience. It is not a step-by-step class. You work on your own project with access to the shared workspace and appropriate tools, with light guidance available as needed. Materials are separate.

Question 7

Do you offer custom orders?

Accepted Answer

Yes! I welcome custom orders. If you have an idea, a special stone, or a meaningful piece in mind, please reach out with your inquiry. We can discuss the design, materials, timeline, and pricing to create something made just for you.

Question 8

How will my jewelry be packaged?

Accepted Answer

Every piece comes packaged in a gift box, ready for giving — or keeping for yourself. I want opening your jewelry to feel special from the moment it arrives.

Question 9

Is gift wrapping available?

Accepted Answer

Every piece already comes in a gift box. If you're sending an order directly as a gift, let me know and I'll make sure it's packaged with gifting in mind.

Question 10

Do you offer jewelry repairs?

Accepted Answer

I offer limited repairs on jewelry purchased directly from GlassStoneStudio. Because every piece is handmade and stones and settings vary, repairs are considered individually. Please contact me with a photo and description of the issue before bringing or mailing anything. Repair costs depend on the type of repair, the materials needed, and the condition of the piece. Normal wear, accidental damage, lost stones, or damage caused by improper care may require a repair fee.

Question 11

Do you repair jewelry made by other artists or stores?

Accepted Answer

I primarily repair my own jewelry. I may consider other pieces individually, but I can't guarantee that every piece can be safely repaired.

Question 12

What is your processing time?

Accepted Answer

Ready-to-ship jewelry is typically packaged and shipped within 3 to 5 business days after purchase. Made-to-order, custom, or resized pieces may require additional time, and an estimated completion time will be provided when your order is confirmed. During busy seasons, markets, or special events, processing may take a little longer. If you need something by a specific date, reach out before ordering and I'll let you know what's possible.

Question 13

What is your return and exchange policy?

Accepted Answer

Because each piece is handmade, I want you to feel good about your purchase. If there's an issue with your order, contact me within 7 days of delivery. Returns or exchanges may be accepted on unworn, unused jewelry in its original condition and packaging. Return shipping is the buyer's responsibility unless the item arrived damaged or there was an error with the order. Custom, personalized, resized, or made-to-order pieces are final sale. Once a returned item is received and inspected, any approved refund goes to the original payment method. Original shipping charges are non-refundable. If an item arrives damaged, contact me as soon as possible with photos so I can make it right.

Question 14

Am I responsible for entering the correct shipping address?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Please double-check your address before submitting your order. GlassStoneStudio isn't responsible for packages delayed, returned, or delivered incorrectly due to an inaccurate or incomplete address. If you notice an error, contact me as soon as possible — if the order hasn't shipped I'll do my best to update it. Once shipped, changes may not be possible. If a package is returned because of an incorrect address, the customer is responsible for any additional shipping costs to resend it.
